Biography

Elizabeth was born 20 August 1783 in Horton Township, Nova Scotia, the fifth child of Edward deWolf and Sarah Brown.^[1][2]

She was married to Isaac Smith in Douglas Township by the Reverend Alexander Dick on 18 Nov 1805,^[3] and they had the following children:

• Harriet Smith, born at Douglas 8 Sep 1806^[4]
• William Edward Smith, born at Douglas 20 Nov 1808^[4]
• John DeWolf Smith, born at Maitland 4 May 1810^[5]
• Maria Smith^[6]
• Sarah DeWolf Smith (b. 21 Nov 1816)^[6]
• Stephen D. Smith^[6]
• Richard Smith^[6]
• Lavinia Smith^[6]
• Abigail Smith^[6]

She died 7 July 1867 in Selma, Hants, Nova Scotia.^[7] Though there is no memorial yet for her at Find a Grave, she was probably laid to rest near her husband in the Selma United Church Cemetery.^[8]
